i created an windows application wich can look up for titles of books
related to aircraft / military / modeling

the database will be updated

if you want to improve the book list just send me a list

the application needs an x64 Windows and DirectX9
please be patiente at startup

small update in database and viewer
now you can text search multiple AND phrases (separated by a comma)

so if you seek an book with F-14 in the title and a number 17
just write in the search input
F-14,17 and it will find only books/series/publisher which have both entries
search does not care for lower/uppercase in latin names

bugfix for search error (some hits were ignored)
and added multi-thread, so the app will use multi-core better

added marker for series or books which have two or more publisher

the search starts to look for matches when 3 characters are typed in the textbox

if you need to search for something smaller, than you can cheat with inserting commas (spaces will not work as they will be not ignored)
but searching for a single letter can lead to many hits

It's very nice and useful application.

Don't you plan to recompile it for 32-bit Windows?
My comp in office has Win XP and I'd be glad to use your searcher there.

i will try to recompile it for 32bit, but cant promise anything

meanwhile, another version, main change (beside some DB cleaning) is the possibility to change the font.
in settings directory is a file called font.set,
first line is the font file name (relative from the app)
second is the font size (not all sizes will fit the layout)
third is the font character range ( 8500 latin/cyrilic)

other lines will be ignored here i added the standard font (which includes latin and cyrilic)
the predefined has also japanese & chinese but takes longer to start the app
so if you do not want to see ???? for mandarin signs use it
if you do not care, swap to the old / other font

fonts included are copyright by google

alfetta, thank you a lot for 32-bit version, it works.

I didn't understand yet what info is inside.
For example, I press on "Aviation Historian" item in the top left list and see the list with number from 01 to 22 at the top right window. Nothnig happens when I press on any digit. Can I see the content of some issue or just the fact that there were 22 issues of this magazine?

infact, in the version i provide her, no more info/functionality is available,
only that this books / mags are existing (and you can search for a phrase like F-14 and find books with this title)

i do use this software to store my ebook collection (get rid of copies)
so if you take a look on the screenshot (look up 2nd post),
you see before the title a number count, which says, that i have stored the book in a digital form
and can by clicking on it view it (with sumatra)

to achieve that, i link a pdf/file with a book via his hash

i use 2 other apps to link pdf to book entry (creates a hash of the file)

(which tries to gues by the name of the file)

and another which is storing them

i planned to include a preview of the title page, index search, but i have other projects,
and the database has now some 90000 entries and 4000 publisher i focus on maintaining and sorting my collection
